Too Big to fail? Well, let's see. Rome, Egypt, Babylon, France, England, Chrysler, General Motors, Circuit City, Titanic, and yes, even the United States of America. The scriptures in the book of Daniel are coming alive before our very eyes. A one world government, a one world religion, and a one world monetary system.

What is really amazing to me is how fast America has fallen. The number one television show forty years ago in 1969 was The Andy Griffith Show. Now, look what is on the television set.

Doesn't anyone remember the book called The Fall of the Roman Empire? Can't anyone other than born-again Christians see what is going on? The humanist elite are controlling us and have been for a long time. Six hundred people composed of politicians, actors, music stars, athletic stars, media-moguls, talk-show hosts, and world leaders rule six billion people.

Satan has his key people in place running this world. In 1947 Harry Truman sought out John Franklin Norris' advice on how to deal with the Jewish people. Do you think that Barack Hussein Obama will consult any Indepen- dent Baptist preacher anytime soon?

How come there is not one hundred million Americans storm- ing the White House for answers and change? Obama said change and he was right. We are gonna get it! Where are the sermons on succession? Why aren't pastors preaching on succession? That is why we are the United States of America.

We are united, but we are also individual states that make up a whole nation. And not if, but when, the government gets corrupt, we can succeed! Succeed from the union. Civil War, remember? A war of northern aggression – when the government imposed its rights on citizens of the United States.

But the humanistic elite has a mantra. Keep them fed and enter- tained and we can control the masses, and then impose our will on them. ESPN, 24 hour CNN, MSNBC, radio, Internet, look at all the restaurants in this country. No wonder we are all obese!

Exodus 32:6: "And the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play." -- which leads to this message.

CHRISTIAN RESISTANCE

I personally believe that some serious persecution is coming upon Christians really soon. I mean, really soon. In one broad swoop. Suddenly and immediately. Just like what happened on 9/11. The seeds are sown and the realities are upon us. Have you ever heard a sermon on Christian resistance? Well, now you are.

Romans 13:1-7, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour."

Chapter thirteen tells us that one of the ways God punishes evildoers is through human government. God has ordained and established human govern- ment. Governments are ordained of God, and He gave them certain authority. (Genesis 9:6) We are also to pray for those in authority.

We are to submit ourselves to governmental authority for the very simple reason that they are ordained of God. It is true that the kingdoms of this world belong to Satan and corruption abounds. Yet remember, God still is in control. The believer in Christ is for law and order and is against lawlessness. Remember that John the Baptist was beheaded by Herod, Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate, and Paul was put to death by Nero. Yet Paul said, Romans 13:2,

"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."

Christianity is not a movement to improve government. It is a way of life to tell the good news (gospel) of salvation to a lost and dying world. The government is to maintain law and order. When it does not do that, it has failed. A Christian should be opposed to the breakdown of law and order, but still obey the government. Now the question is, should Christians ever resist the government? Is it ever right for a Christian to resist authorities?

Here is an example. Seat belt laws. The issue is not whether lives are saved by wearing belts. The issue is whether government (federal law) has a right to demand that I wear a seat belt. Seat belt laws are not biblical issues. They are constitutional issues, and as an American I may choose to debate them. Every Christian must realize that it is a serious thing to disobey government. If you are really saved, you know that following Christ will affect every area of your life. We must make every decision based on biblical truth. That in itself may one day result in confrontation conflict, and yes maybe confinement.

SOME THINGS TO PONDER

In 1662, the Acts of Uniformity was passed in England, and two thousand Puritan Preachers refused to sign a license to preach, consequently losing their pulpits and many going to jail. Could something like this happen today in America?

If you were a Christian living in Germany from 1933-1945 would you have been active in the underground resistance movement? Would you have "obeyed the government" and turned in Jewish friends and neighbors? Would you have served in the military (as today's Christians do) and took a job at Auschwitz? Would you ave been a member of the SS?

Will pastors today provide their church membership role to a United Nations force? Suppose you awoke one day and the governor, Mayor and the City Council had been shot dead, and a gang of thugs had taken over your city or state? Your judges, police chief, and county sheriff have all been replaced. Then the "head thug" said a new government is in control.

Are you as a Christian obligated to obey that government? Sup- pose you were a Christian before 1776 in the original colonies, would you have sided with Britain (obey government) or not?

A government is not illegitimate because it was not voted in power, nor because it is corrupt. All govern- ment is corrupt. Government is illegitimate when the innocent are not protected and the villains are not punished. When those two characteristics become the out- standing reality of a government, then we as citizens have every right to resist. Just because Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin built high- ways, railroads, schools, and hos- pitals does not mean they were legitimate. And that is why they were judged. Is America next?

Tough decisions now face American Christians. What is laws are passed to confiscate all guns? What id it becomes illegal to own a Bible Or to spank your children as the Bible says we are to do? What will American Christians do then?

John Bunyan was arrested for preaching without a license. He spent almost thirteen years in a Bedford prison. He resisted! His resistance made it possible for any farm boy n England to preach the gospel on the streets in barns and homes without a license. Can you imagine Paul or Peter asking for a permit to [preach on the streets?

Much of the New Testament was penned in prison How do you think Russian Christians inter- preted Romans 14;1-7 from 1917 to 1987?

Many church leaders are telling us that Christians should obey the law of the land until it is changed through legislation or judicial action. According to that, Moses mother should have let him be killed as a baby. She was breaking federal law by keeping him alive, wasn't she? The three Hebrew children should have bowed before the image of gold, because, hey, they didn't want to be disobedient to the law, right? In conclusion, we as Christians should obey the laws of the land.

But if that law should interfere with a scriptural truth or command, we must resist. We are under a higher law – the law of Christ as His disciple. Romans chapter 13:1-7 is what is classified as some things, "hard to understand."

Will death take us off this planet before real persecution comes? But isn't real persecution already a reality in other parts of the world? Are American Christians that soft? Romans Chapter 13:107 is just as vital today as when it was first penned by the Apostle Paul two thousand years ago.

May we stand in the evil day, as the Lord Jesus Christ said He would not give us more than we could handle. The Tower of Babel, the Catholic Church, the Roman and Greek Empires, Hillary's New Age, the French Revolution, Hitler's Third Reich, and the National Council of "Christian" Churches are the same outfit. They only vary in approach and profession, their goal is the same: "Peace on earth, good will to men" without "Thus saith the Lord and Glory to God in the highest."

We have to remember the lost people are lost and "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." May we as Christians stick to what the Lord has us to do, and be faithful and obedient to our calling.
