THE LORD’S BREAKFAST?

The Lord Jesus observed closed communion (the Lord’s Supper) with the saved baptized members of his church. The Apostle Paul continued to teach this truth to the church at Corinth in I Corinthians 10:17; 11:1; 11:23-34. A well known preacher observed open communion on the 5th Sunday morning of five week months. (Some today observe it on the first Sunday morning of every month.) The Lord and Paul both taught it was to be a supper not a breakfast (Matt. 26:20; I Cor. 11:23). Open communion on a Sunday morning is a Catholic practice not a Baptist practice. There are more unsaved visitors in a church on Sunday morning than any other service. They will partake when open communion is practiced not discerning the Lord’s body. A Baptist church which observes open communion on Sunday morning is not a Fundamental Bible Believing Baptist Church regardless of what they claim. What you practice speaks louder than what you say.
