Verse 15 -- "BLESSED is He that shall eat bread in the Kingdom of God" refers to eating at the Marriage Supper of th Lamb. This will take place in Heaven. FACT: No one will eat at this supper without being BORN AGAIN. The invitations are free to all who will accept them. See REV. 10:7-9 – THE PARTIES AT THIS SUPPER: THE LAMB – Jesus Christ WIFE – New Testament Church THE PRIVILEGE – Blessed are those CALLED to Attend. . . . This is the consummation of the marriage of Christ to His Church. The Jewish Wedding ceremony had 3 parts:

Verse 7 – She is READY. Verse 8 – She is clothed in fine linen – clean – white – righteous. . . . God's pure Church is compared with the great whore of REV. 17:1-6. . . . not called a bride – called a WHORE – WOMAN – not clothed in purity but: fornication, blasphemy, abominations, filthiness, martyrdom. No purity in the inside – just the outside looks of religion: . . . many waters . . . Kings of the earth . . . (MAFFIA too) wine . . . Drunk . . . purple . . . gold . . . precious stones . . . pearls . . . gold cups.
COME – an open invite to all who want to eat. It is a feast – not a funeral or a famine – but a feast! An all-U-can-eat buffet!!! Eat whatever you want – as much as you want! Why is Salvation pictured as a FEAST to EAT?
Why a FEAST? 1. It was planned by someone who showed their LOVE – time to prepare food – serve it to us. JOHN 3:16: For GOD SO loved – HE gave – WHOSOEVER – HAVE!
ROMANS 6:23 – ages of sin IS death – but the GIFT of God IS . . . .
ROMANS 5:8 – but GOD commendeth his love toward US – while we were YET sinners – Christ died FOR US. See LUKE 14:17: God had already finished everything necessary to save lost mankind – virgin birth – perfect sinless life – death, burial, UP!! Now – His servants are to bid people to come and eat!! 2 CORINTHIANS 6:2: I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured (HELPED) thee – NOW is the accepted time – NOW is the day of salvation. ALL IS READY!!! Prophesy is fulfilled – we are close! COME – Luke 14:17 – HIS SERVANT – say to them COME! Why Now? I have more time! I'm not ready! A little longer! Not through with my sin yet – I know I will have time before death! I think I am all right! I am not as bad as ______! I know the man upstairs! VERSE 17 – 3 Truths:
We do nothing to earn it or get it – Jesus paid it all!!!
WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO GO TO HELL? 1. They don't really believe in a fiery hell of punishment!
See VERSE 18-20 – MAN'S EXCUSES LISTED. They all had something to DO before they accepted the invitation.
Loving the wife more than God – just living life! All these things are important to us – Matt. 6:33 – seek FIRST – ALL. It is all a matter of priorities! Is there a real hell? Will it be eternal? Is God a God of His Word? Is the Bible true? Why have children then raise them / educate them / send them to HELL?? Why have lots of $$$$$$$$$$$ and die and go to HELL? Why be known by society then have a big funeral – be in hell while these people are looking at you in your casket?
Churches are built Men are called to ministry Soul winners go out Truth is given out Yet there IS room at the banquet table. Fact: Payday Someday for All Men It will be Too Late Sometime. Bottom Line is that this is a true happening thruout centuries of time. Men are confronted with TRUTH – God has given all men a choice. God has the final say based upon man's decision. FACT: God's Spirit will not always strive with mankind! HE CALLS – MAN CHOOSES – God has no other choice but Judgment. What have we learned in this passage?
It is good to be Saved – AMEN???????? We all have a commission given to us by God Almighty – AMEN??? Hell is hot – Heaven is beautiful – AMEN? God's Bible is True – AMEN? Will anyone be able to do YOUR PART in inviting the lost? Illus. A church was handing out invitations to a Gospel meeting to the streets in their city. Everyone was working – going to every door – inviting and leaving brochures on every door step – after the meeting someone called the Pastor and told him that they had found a stack of brochures HIDDEN under the shrubs on the corner of his street. People who live on that street had died that week!!!!!! Who is responsible before God to have covered the street? WHO WILL DO OUR DUTY? Serve God by proxy – possible???? We all must get involved in doing OUR PART – stop talking – start doing? LOST PEOPLE DO GO TO HELL EVERY DAY!!!!!!! LOST PEOPLE HAVE A CHOICE – accept or reject. SAVED PEOPLE HAVE HOICES TOO – obey or disobey – WHICH? |
