"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." (Deuteronomy 4:2)

In the last issue of the Flaming Torch we started an article called "Mormonism: a Religious Fairy Tale." And that it is. However, many of the Mormon people are good citizens, patriotic, conservative and will treat you kindly when you knock on their door. Yet this does not negate the corrupt doctrines of their religion. Like many Catholics, I suspect a large number of Mormons do not have any idea what their cult believes.

As Americans we respect their right to believe anything they want to but we do not have to respect any religion that teaches heresy regarding the word of God.

The following paragraph is what the LDS website says about the book of Mormon.

"A volume of scripture included in the standard works of the Church. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is a collection of writings and teachings of the ancient prophets and followers of Jesus Christ who lived in the Americas from approximately 590 B.C. to 421 A.D. The Prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by divine inspiration from gold plates that he received from the angel Moroni. Books in the Book of Mormon are named after the prophets who kept the records, such as Nephi, Mosiah, Alma, and Mormon. A reference from the Book of Mormon may look like this: Alma 37:35-37."

A person does not have to go very far in determining the authenticity of the Mormon religion in comparison to Bible Christianity. The word of God is complete in the sixty-six books of scripture and places warnings about adding too, and taking away, from it.

The canon of scripture has been sealed for hundreds of years. Joseph Smith ignored the warnings and invented the fairy tale of golden plates revealed to him by an "Italian" angel. The Bible puts a curse on those who reject the Bible and pretend to be a prophet.

All false cults teach they are the only way of salvation and the only TRUE church. The Lord Jesus Christ said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) You can believe Joe Smith or you can believe The Lord Jesus Christ.

I grew up in The Church of Christ. They say they are the way. I have friends who grew up In the Roman Catholic Church. They say they are the way. I have friends who were members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They say they are the way. I led a Marine to Christ that grew up in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. They say they are the way. Many years ago I worked with a woman that belonged to an Apostolic Pentecostal Church. They say they are the way.

All false cults teach they are the only way of salvation and the only TRUE church. Bible believing Baptists believe Jesus is the way, the ONLY way of salvation.

Cults such as Mormonism have no FINAL authority. Everything is relative to the depraved thinking of its leaders. "Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil."

The LDS "church" has a number of sources of authority: the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price, the Bible and the present prophet’s words. True Christians and true churches have one final authority: the BIBLE.

LDS historian Reed Durham observed:

A Mormon missionary, to be caught dead, not wearing his secret underwear could have grave consequences. (No pun intended).

When They Call at Your Door

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe your Church is wrong, your Christian creeds are abomination to God, and your pastor is a hireling of Satan.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there is salvation only in their church - all others are wrong.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that those who have been through their temples are wearing secret underwear to protect themselves from "evil". This "evil" includes non - Mormons like you. (They say the underwear is "sacred" not secret)

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU about their secret temple rites at all. If they did, you would spot them as non-Christians immediately.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they think "familiar spirits" are good, and that their Book of Mormon has a "familiar spirit". Leviticus 19:31 says familiar spirits defile one, and are to be avoided at all costs.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that women receive salvation only through their Mormon husbands, and must remain pregnant for all eternity.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they intend to be gods themselves some day, and are helping to earn their exaltation to godhood by talking to you.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they intend to have many wives in heaven, carrying on multiple sex relations throughout eternity, until they have enough children to populate their own earth, so they can be "Heavenly Father" over their own planet!

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that you were once a spirit - child of their heavenly father, and one of his numerous wives before you were born on earth.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the Virgin Mary really wasn't a virgin at all but had sex relations with their heavenly father to produce the Mormon version of Jesus Christ.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe Jesus had at least three wives and children while he was on this earth.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the "heavenly father" they ask you to pray to with them, is really an exalted man that lives on a planet near the star base Kolob, and is not the Heavenly Father of the Bible at all.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Jesus was really Lucifer's brother in the spirit world, and it was only due to a "heavenly council" vote that Jesus became our redeemer instead of Satan!!

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there are over one hundred divisions in Mormonism. They con- veniently "forget" this while criticizing the many denominations claiming to be Christian.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that all their so- called scriptures such as the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants, and even their official "Mormon Doctrine" statements contradict each other on MAJOR doctrinal points. The King James Bible is likewise contradicted.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the reason the Book of Mormon has no maps is because there is not one scrap of archaeological evidence to support it!

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the state of Utah, which is predominately Mormon, has a higher than the national average of wife beating, child abuse, and teenage suicide.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their prophet Joseph Smith was heavily involved in the occult when he founded Mormonism.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that that they encourage visitations from dead relatives from the "spirit world", a practice forbidden in the Bible. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12.)

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there are many accounts of Joseph Smith's first vision besides the one they present to you, and all are different.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that before 1978 they considered the Negro race inferior, and even one drop of Negro blood prevented a person from entering their priesthood.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they expect Christ to return to their temple in Missouri, but they haven't built the temple He's supposed to return to, because they don't own the property. (It is owned by the "Temple Lot Mormons" who have plans of their own, and won't let the Salt Lake City group buy it).

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they consider the Bible to be untrustworthy and full of errors.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Jesus' death on the cross only partially saves the believer.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that on their Salt Lake City Temple they prominently display an upside-down star which is a satanic symbol known as the Goat's head. Why?

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe the Archangel Michael came down to earth with several of his celestial wives, and became Adam in the Garden of Eden.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that that they believe the angel Gabriel came down to earth and became Noah in the days of the flood.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their Prophet Joseph Smith prophesied falsely many times. For example, he foretold the second coming of Christ for 1891. The Bible teaches that one false prophecy puts the prophet under death sentence. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their Prophet Joseph Smith did not die as a martyr as they claim, but was killed during a gun battle in which he himself killed two men and wounded a third.

MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Joseph Smith taught that there were inhabitants on the moon, and Brigham Young taught there were inhabitants on the sun as well!

When the Mormon missionaries come to your door they will tell you none of the above, which their religion teaches or has taught at one time or another. Their goal is to get you to invite them into your house so they can convince you they are sent from God.

"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." (2 John 1:9-11)

Do not invite them in. Let them stand on your porch while you witness to them from your old King James Bible.

Beware, the Mormon missionaries use the same terms for Bible doctrines that Bible Believing Christians do but they do not mean the same thing. For instance: "the doctrine of Christ" is this:

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (1 Timothy 3:16)

The Mormon Church does not believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. They believe that Adam was God. When the Mormon says he has been born again he means he has been baptized in water. Water baptism does not place one in Christ, it places them in "WATER." (Gal. 3:26-28)

Another phony, false doctrine the Mormons practice in their temples, is baptizing live people for dead people. It is kind of like paying a Catholic priest to pray your dead husband out of purgatory. (Which doesn’t exist.) However, the deceased Mormon is in a "spiritual prison" wishing he had been dunked in the Mormon Temple while he was still alive and on the Earth. J Wow! What a fairy tale religion.

Of course, all of these cults get their teachings from certain places in the Bible or their own corruptions such as the Book of Mormon. They get baptizing for the dead from 1 Corinthians15:29.

"If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die". (1Corrinthians 15:32)

1. "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19)

2. "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

3. Babies are the product of natural generation not individual spirit creation and injection by God at conception. The entire human race was created in Adam. When Adam fell the whole race fell and mankind became sinners in Adam. When the sinner believes on the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, he is spiritually taken out of Adam and placed in Christ. He changes his position in a family of death for a standing in a family of life.

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 Peter 1:23)

4. Saved people in resurrected glorified bodies do not reproduce babies but are AS the angels in Heaven.

"Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven." (Matthew 22:28-30)

Every angel in the Bible, when he appears, always appears as a 33 year old male. There are no women angels in the word of God. Males do not reproduce with males although the sodomites of today would like to think they do.

5. The serpent lied to Eve knowing since she had seen "the sons of God" (fallen angels) flying around in the Garden of Eden it would be easy to "beguile" her into wanting to be like them. ("ye shall be as gods.")

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:3)

The Devil learned centuries ago that feeding Christians to Roman lions was not a good idea. It only tended to purify the Church, so he invented many different cults, Bible correctors, false churches, false prophets and teachers.
