AN OUTLINE YOU CAN PREACH GOD’S SEVENFOLD JUSTIFICATION By HERB EVANS, Ltt.D. 157 PATTIES PLACE PORTERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA 16051 E-Mail: herbevans@juno.com 1. COMPLETE JUSTIFICATION Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon ALL men unto justification of life. Act 13:39 And by him ALL that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that HE might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made HEIRS according to the hope of eternal life. A believer is justified before God from ALL things. Such a free gift of justification of LIFE has been provided and available to and for ALL men. God is the justifier of believers and believers are not the justifiers. The believer can expect to be predestinated to glorification as a result of that justification and predestination to the kingdom as a predestinated HEIR. Still, there are several means or ways in which God justifies believers in the N.T. in His eyes: 2. BY HIS GRACE Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made HEIRS according to the hope of eternal life. Redemption justifies the sinner by His grace and also makes the redeemed believer a child of God and an HEIR to the kingdom, according to the hope of ETERNAL life. 3. BY FAITH Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. When a believer is justified by faith, he has peace, and does not have the sword of Damocles hanging over him. He does not have to walk a tightrope the rest of his like wondering whether he will end up in hell or be excluded from the kingdom. It is the UNGODLY and sinners that are justified. And their faith is counted for righteousness NOT THEIR WORKS. 4. BY CHRIST Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. God save sinners while they were yet sinners and ungodly. Christ continues to justify believers even if they are still found SINNERS. And this truth does not minister sin or absent holiness; it promotes holiness in those, who are really new creatures in Christ., who are NO MORE SERVANTS but SONS and if SONS – HEIRS. 5. BY THE SPIRIT 1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. The believer is justified by the Holy Spirit in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ after being washed in the Blood. Also, positional sanctification is also given at that time. Both positional justification and sanctification belong to the believer upon salvation. 6. BY HIS BLOOD Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. The believer, when justified by the blood, is not appointed to wrath of any kind, whether hell fire or the tribulation or anything at the judgment seat of Christ. The wrath of God abideth on only unbelievers (John 3:36) 7. BY WORKS Jam 2:17 – 20 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:24, 25 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? Of course, there is a PRACTICAL sanctification and justification that a believer exercises in his daily life. That practical justification and sanctification is found in James and demonstrates to God, his brethren, and to unbelievers that one really possesses a living faith, rather than a dead faith. |
