TOGETHER
Sometimes we’ve walked beneath a clear blue sky,
Sometimes soft clouds went with us, white and fair,
Sometimes gray fog obscured the stifling air.
But we have walked together, you and I.
Sometimes the hills with smiling sunshine shone,
And friends were many on the cheerful road;
Some days were bowed beneath a cruel load.
But we have walked together, not alone.
Young love knew hours when we were carefree.
Maturer years brought peace of deeper hue.
Through all, a loyal comradeship and true,
For we have walked together all the way,
Our eyes forever fixed upon the face
Of Christ who safely kept us by His grace.
