Why I Believe the King James Bible Only!

Proverbs 30:5 "Every Word of God is pure." I want to talk about the pure Word of God. What do you think it means when it says every Word of God is pure? I think it is pure first and foremost in that it is not affected by the word of man. That it is nothing more then the pure Word of God. It is God's Word as God desired to present God's Word, pure.

Now let me say something to you, there are lies that are recorded in the Bible. Right in the beginning of the Bible, what does the serpent say to Eve? "Ye shall not surely die." She believed that lie and went ahead and died spiritually that day, and pressed you and me into this horrible mess we are in because of unbelief.

But even though there are some lies recorded they are recorded because God knew that we need to see the deceitfulness of the Wicked One. So yes, the Bible does record lies, but the Word of God is still pure. An all wise God chose to put these words in there because he knew you and I would need these words.

The Bible is not a conglomeration of what man says and what God says. It is a collection of what God says and what God chooses to record in human history because He knows you and I need it. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine," so that you and I can have sound teaching on the person, character, and nature of God and we can see how God works under every circumstance.

So we can teach sound doctrine. For doctrine, for reproof, so we can be shown when we're wrong. For correction and instruction in righteousness, so we can be taught the right way. God chose to record all this and you can take the Bible and you can say this is a pure book. It is not infiltrated by the wisdom of man. It's the Word of the Lord. Having said that, let me make another comment. Most people don't understand the book of Ecclesiastes. Is it inspired of God?

Absolutely!! But, it's from the perspective of wisdom "under the sun." And as you read the whole book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon over and over refers to His wisdom under the sun. But what is spiritual wisdom? It's wisdom that comes down from above. In the book of Ecclesiastes, God allowed the wisest man that ever lived, the richest man to try every avenue in life.

God withdrew Himself just enough that Solomon could try all these different avenues and find out that everyone of them was a dead end, so that you and I do not have to try those things. So that we can just go straight to the heart of the issue and serve God with all our heart, all our mind all our soul and all our strength.

Isn't God wonderful? Now, when you read the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon's statements about death seem to be different than 1 Corinthians 15, 11 Corinthians 5 and Revelation. Why? Because it's wisdom under the sun. It shows you from man's point of view, living in this world, exactly what life is without God. That's what it does! And God inspired that book to be written. Is that amazing?? Every word of God is pure! Every Word of God is pure!!

I want to show you something tonight. In Isaiah chapter 55:7, "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him." You know, when a wicked man forsakes his way and an unrighteous man his thoughts, do you know what that is called? It's called repentance. And God says he will have mercy upon him and God will abundantly pardon.

What does the unrighteous man have to forsake? The unrighteous man his what? His thoughts! His thoughts! Why?? Look at verse 8. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher then the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

So, listen, I have got news for you, every time I open the Bible, I do not expect the Bible to agree with me. Do you know why? Because I'm just little dummy Rick. And you're just little dummy you. And compared to God we know nothing. His wisdom is above ours as heaven is above the earth!! What do we know in comparison to God, to an all wise God who created everything? What do we know in comparison to Him??

How in the world can we think that God has to think our way or He is wrong? People actually think that! I'll show you how they do that in a minute. Now, I want to show you another verse in Romans 8. You recall that he is writing to Christians here. He says in verse 6, "For to be carnally minded is death."

To be carnally minded or fleshly minded, you lose your interest in hearing the Word of God, you lose your interest in reading the Bible, you lose your interest in praying. You just want to live life. "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." (Romans 8:7, KJV)

So, God says the carnal mind is enmity against God. Our fleshly mind is the enemy of God. Our fleshly mind thinks so contrary to God that we are literally God's enemy by the way we think naturally. It takes God to renew our mind. He says in Romans chapter 12 that our minds need to be renewed. We need to yield our minds to God. Now listen carefully.

What is unique about this is man tries to change God's Word because it does not agree with his carnal mind. So he (are you ready for this?) corrects God's Word because it is offensive to his way of thinking. Did you ever sit under a snake like this? He'll read the Bible and then he'll say, "but, in the original Greek it doesn't say that." and he will teach exactly opposite of what the Bible just said.

It's not like he is expounding on it. When somebody comes along and they quote the Bible and then they say that the original Greek didn't say that, they never saw the original Greek, they never saw the original Hebrew, so, they don't have a clue. They are just listening to somebody else who said that.

The carnal mind is enmity with God. 11 Corinthians 2 :17 " For we are not as many which corrupt the Word of God." We speak the Word of God because we know God is going to hold us accountable for saying what He says and not what we think. There are a lot of good men out there today. But, because they only read what man writes instead of what God writes they say the same thing, "In the original Hebrew, or the original Greek it says".

They are not the ones really corrupting the text and yet because they are reading more of what man says than what God says they are still corrupting the text. That's very dangerous. Let me ask you this, how many of our pastors in India do you think correct the Bible? None! They don't have any other book except the Bible! They haven't heard from Dr. Baloney yet. Professor Corruption. You wonder, why would anybody believe what man says instead of the Bible?

When God saved my poor wretched soul, He brought me to the place where I trusted God over everything. There was nobody who had anything more to tell me than this book had to tell me. This book is the revelation of God.

The Bible says here in verse 17, "We are not as many which corrupt the word of God , but as in sincerity, so speak we the Word of God". I Peter 4:11 "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

So God tells us if a man's going to speak, he needs to speak as the oracles of God. He doesn't correct the oracles of God, he speaks as the oracles of God. Do you see the difference? There's one who explains the oracles of God, there's another who explains away the oracles of God. There's a big difference. It's important for us to see that God's Word is pure.

A man right with God humbles himself, he believes God. In his mind, God is right. God is infinitely wiser, God is trustworthy. And he prays, and he reads, and he meditates on God's Word to understand, not to correct God's Word. Do you see the difference? I've read in this Bible at times things I thought were contradictory. And I said, I believe God is right. I'm going to trust the Lord and keep studying. And the more I studied the more God showed me that there is not one contradiction anywhere in the whole Bible.

Just because our minds do not grasp it early on does not mean there is a contradiction. And yet "brilliant minds" try to correct the Bible. If you would study, and pray and ask for discernment, God would show you the truth. But, you don't correct God. My question to you is this, is God reliable? How do you know?

If the Bible is not 100% God's Word, is God reliable? No, he is not reliable. Is God reliable? Is He trust- worthy? Is He believable? If you believe a Bible that is not correct then how can you say God is trustworthy? Oh, well, in the original He was trustworthy. You mean today He's not trustworthy? When He wrote the Bible He was trustworthy.

You don't understand, Pastor Rick, what man has done to the Bible over the ages. No, you don't understand how powerful the God is Who wrote the Bible. Are there corrupt Bibles out there? Absolutely! One of the worst out there today is a Bible called "The Message". One of the worst. Rick Warren uses it infinitely. It is not even close to the Bible. It contradicts so much of God's true Word, it is not even a Bible.

Now, Let me ask you this, if we have different versions of the Bible, and each one is different which one is correct? People say, I take a little from all the versions. Well, then, how do you know it's true? If every one of them has differences, how do you know which one is true?

They have to agree to be the same to be true. That's the point. If somebody says that they use all the versions, if every version agrees with themselves, there's not a problem. But, they don't. The Bible says that Lucifer is the "S-o-n of the morning". It simply means he was created in the early morning of creation.

But, most of the other versions say that he was the "morning star," making him equal to Jesus Christ. Is that true? Was he the light from the beginning? Folks, what you need to understand is this, that America is being programmed to accept a Bible that one day will be able to prove that anti-christ is Christ.

When he gets wounded in the head and dies and resurrects, you'll be able to go to the "new versions" of the Bible and prove he is Christ. Because that's exactly what the devil is doing today. Plus he is confusing everybody.

Even when you ask a lost person if he believes the Bible, they say "Which bible?" They don't know. We used to believe the Bible. Now we believe anything that says B-I-B-L-E on it (except the KJV). Why? Because we've allowed men with titles after their names to say, "In the original.." and change what it says. But, every one of these so called "brilliant scholars" who write a different version, disagree with everybody else. So, who's right?

Let me ask you, if you were God, would you have your Word interpreted by people who disagree with each other, when you wanted to communicate your faithfulness to the world? Not at all! And so, every Word of God is pure. Here's what you need to understand.

Here's the reason God's Word is pure. Because God wrote the Bible based on foreknowledge. God fore- knew the end from the beginning. You and I say things that might not come to pass because we can't foresee what tomorrow will bring. When God wrote the Bible, He wrote it with total, 100% knowledge of what would come to pass before He ever wrote one jot or title. Otherwise, how is God a faithful God?

In Psalms 138:2 it shows you how important the Bible is. "I will worship toward thy Hoy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name." There are several names for God in the Bible and God has exalted His Word above all the names of God, because without the Word of God how do you know God?

How do you know what God is like? You can look at life and know there's a consequence for sin. You see horrible things happening because of sin. Our problem is that we don't know and the only way we can really, really know God is by knowing what God says. God has exalted His Word above His name so that we can understand the person, the character, the nature, the attributes and most importantly the faithfulness of God.

If you can't trust what God says, how can you have any peace, any joy? How can you live Godly or have any faith? All the devil had to do was to get Eve to doubt that God would do exactly what He said, and the next thing you know she fell into sin. And she passed on sin to her husband and he took it whole heartedly hook, line and sinker. We live in a world today that has been wracked horrendously by sin.

1 Peter 1:23," Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God of God which liveth and abideth forever." So, we're born again by an incorruptible seed, by the Word of God. Now, if the Word of God is an incorruptible seed, and a human being adds a lie or changes what it is saying, does it continue to be incorruptible?

The moment man changes it, it becomes corruptible, and therefore, can you be born again? The countries where God is doing great things today, they are not changing His Word, but simply believing it. Let me ask you this, one lie added to truth, is it corruptible or incorruptible? It's corrupt!

Suppose you have fresh orange juice, and there's a little drop of poison in it, and you can't see it or smell it. Would you drink it? What if I hand you a Bible and say that there are just a few errors in this book. What does that do to your sub -conscience? It already gets you to doubt God, because God is not reliable to keep His Word. If God was really reliable, He would keep His Word and not allow anybody to change it. God wasn't only faithful when He wrote the Bible, He's been faithful every generation. God is faithful. So, how can truth remain truth if it has untruth in it? If we don't have a reliable God, we don't have a chance.

I never try to correct this book, I humble myself before the God of this book. That's all I know. God's wisdom and God's ways are above mine and I will humble myself and surrender and submit myself to Him because I want to know what He has to say. I've seen where my wisdom has taken me.

Look at the world. Alexander the Great has the wisdom to conquer the world, and loses his battle to the bottle by age 32. College professors that have been married 5 and 6 times because although they have degrees after their name, they don't know how to live. God knows! He shows us the truth, the right way. We can trust Him, He's dependable, He's reliable.

In Psalms 19:7. "The law of the Lord is perfect." The law of the Lord is spiritual and we are carnal. There is not one flaw in anything that God gave or God said. " The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple." The testimony of the Lord is the illustrations in the Bible that show us His workings so that we know His nature.

He shows you how He deals in every situation. In the book of Jude, in 2 Peter, He talks about the judgment He brought upon Sodom and Gomorrah. Why does He tell us about that? Because He wants people to understand that no one ought to consider those life styles because of the consequences of dealing with a Holy God.

Here's Abraham, he believes God. So what does God do? He declares him righteous. So, If we believe God like Abraham did, He'll declare us righteous. We know how God works because of the testimonies of the Lord. The testimonies of the Lord are sure. You can bank on them that every one of them is true. Is God's resume in this book true? Can you trust it? Can you know how He will react in every situation in life? Absolutely!

Psalms 19:8, " The statutes of the Lord are right rejoicing the heart. " The things that God teaches us to do, they are right things. We don't have to worry. Dr Spock, taught the world how to raise kids leniently, without any discipline. And, before he died he had to admit he was wrong. Millions of families were ruined because people followed Dr. Spock instead of Dr. Jesus. If they had done what the Bible said, they would have known how to raise their kids. Only God tells you how to raise them for the glory of God, so we better do it God's way. "The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the command- ment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes."

See, everything about the Word of God is true and right so that you and I don't have to worry. The amazing thing about the Bible is, over and over again the Bible says, "Thus saith the Lord," so that we never forget. Look at Zechariah 8:1, "Again the Word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,". See this?

Holy men of God moved by the Holy Ghost have given us the whole scriptures. It is important for us to believe the Bible. There is a danger. There are people out there who say, "We are New Testament Christians." You can be a New Testament Christian, because you believe the gospel of the New Testament, but, when you believe the New Testament, you believe the Old Testament also. There's no such thing as, I believe the New Testament and not the Old Testament in salvation.

John 5:45, "Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. " Now what is ironic, is that the Jews said they believed in Moses. That He was a great man.

But look what Jesus said about them. John 5:46, "For had ye believed Moses, you would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not my writings, how shall ye believe my words?" In other words, how in the world can you believe the Lord Jesus Christ of the New Testament if you don't believe that the prophecies of the Old Testament were fulfilled?

In the Old Testament God showed us the consequences of sin, God still saved people. David knew that, "blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes not iniquity." He knew what it was to be forgiven, he knew what it was to have his sins covered, he knew what it was to not have his sin imputed, he knew what it was to have eternal life.

He said, "Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me." He said, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever". He knew the Lord, he knew the grace of God. It's the same God in the Old Testament and the New Testament. We believe it all.

Did you ever notice that this book makes you make decisions? Sometimes they are not easy decisions. Sometimes you need to choose to glorify God and do the will of God, and believe God over anybody in the whole wide world. No matter what anybody pressures you to do, you do what God tells you to do because you believe what God says.

Psalms 12:6, "The words of the Lord are pure words:" Some "hand is quicker than the eye" pastors will tell you that they don't believe it's actually God's Word, but that God's thoughts are in God's Word. The Bible never teaches believing a concept, the Bible teaches believing His Words.

Again Psalms 12:6, "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times." A holy God has purified this book. It's absolutely 100% dependable. Just like the silver that's purified seven times is absolutely perfect, God has purified the words in this book.

They are absolutely perfect. Verse 7 says, " Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." See, God says that not only are His words pure, but they are kept words. That means an omnipotent God, who foresaw everything, is keeping His words pure in this world.

So, when someone mentions, "In the original...," you know that it is not true because in verse 7 God says, "thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." I believe in the tribulation period, they will be able to take a modern version of the Bible and prove that anti-christ is Christ.

There are several versions right now that you can actually prove that Joseph Smith is the brother of Lucifer, and that Jesus Christ is the brother of Lucifer. They are so corrupted right now, that they play right into the hands of the Mormons. Each new version gets more corrupt. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand the Bible.

When you start prayerfully reading the Bible you will begin to get it. It's not long before the "thees" and the "thous" begin to make sense. Have you ever gone to a Shakespeare play? They don't take out the thees and thous and people still understand it. How is that possible? It's a matter of choice.

Either you choose to believe God or not to believe God. I choose to believe God. When I stand before God, I do not want to be accused of changing one Word, or of believing one word other than what He says. "Every word of God is pure, he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
