SERMON OUTLINES FOR BUSY PREACHERS
By PASTOR
CHARLES PERKINS
Jer 32:27 Behold, I am
the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for
me?
Jer 32:17 Ah Lord GOD!
behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched
out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
ALL POWERFULL
GOD IS OMNISCIENT
ALL KNOWING
GOD IS OMNIPRESENT EVERYWHERE

GOD CAN MAKE DONKEYS TALK AND WHALES SWALLOW
BACK SLIDDEN PREACHERS
THE LORD JESUS IS GOD:
Col
1:16 For by him were all things created, that
are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they
be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him, and for him:
17
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Phil 2:5 Let
this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But
made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to
all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to
feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he
saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou
prepared me:
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be
touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted
like as we are, yet without sin.
II. HE COULD NOT PRAY CONTRARY TO THE WILL OF
THE FATHER
Mat 26:36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called
Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray
yonder.
37 And
he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful
and very heavy.
38 Then
saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry
ye here, and watch with me.
39 And
he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father,
if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I
will, but as thou wilt.
40 And
he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter,
What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch
and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing,
but the flesh is weak.
42 He
went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this
cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be
done.
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for
their eyes were heavy.
Psa 75:8 For in the hand of the LORD there is
a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth
out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the
earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the
wrath of God abideth on him.
Rev 14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the
earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great
winepress of the wrath of God.
III. HE COULD NOT SAVE HIMSELF AND SAVE US TOO
Mat 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword
into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Thinkest
thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more
than twelve legions of angels?
54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled,
that thus it must be?
Mat 27:33 And when they were come unto a place called
Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with
gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
35 And
they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them,
and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 And
sitting down they watched him there;
37 And set up over his head his accusation
written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Then were there two thieves crucified with
him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39 And
they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 And
saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking
him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot
save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the
cross, and we will believe him.
43 He
trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said,
I am the Son of God.
44 The thieves also, which were crucified with
him, cast the same in his teeth.
Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the
law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even
the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all
and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom
3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through
the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom
God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through
the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:
that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
IV. HE COULD NOT KEEP FROM RAISING FROM THE DEAD
John 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What
sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus
answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days
I will raise it up.
20 Then
said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou
rear it up in three days?
21 But
he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his
disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed
the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Mat 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the
preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 Saying,
Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three
days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be
made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal
him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last
error shall be worse than the first.
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch:
go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure,
sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Mat 28:1 In the
end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the
week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake:
for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back
the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His
countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And
for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And
the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye
seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He
is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord
lay.
V. HE CANNOT FAIL TO COME BACK TO GET US
1. THE OLD TESTAMENT SAYS SO:
Zec 14:1 Behold,
the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the
midst of thee.
2 For
I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall
be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city
shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be
cut off from the city.
3 Then
shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought
in the day of battle.
4 And
his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is
before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in
the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall
be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the
north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the
mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye
shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah
king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints
with thee.
Zec 14:9 And the
LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be
one LORD, and his name one.
2. THE LORD JESUS SAID SO:
John 16:16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and
again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17 Then
said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith
unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while,
and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
18 They
said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell
what he saith.
19 Now
Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire
among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me:
and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall
rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A
woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as
soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish,
for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but
I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no
man taketh from you.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in
God, believe also in me.
2 In
my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto
myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And
whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas
saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know
the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
3. THE ANGELS SAID SO:
Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven
as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up
from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen
him go into heaven.
