WHAT’S KILLING THE CHURCH

I. Unlived Truth

We need no new message, just the old one lived. James 4:17; John 13:17.

II. Unholy Unions

Worldliness and carnality mark the lives of today’s churchgoer.

III. Unscriptural Methods

Modern methods may get a church off the ground, but they can never keep them airborne.

IV. Unconcerned Members

Other loves have come in:

  1. "Love for self" (1 Timothy 3:2)

  2. "Love for money" (1 Timothy 6:10)

  3. "Love for the world" (1 John 2:15)

  4. "Love for family" (Matthew 10:37)

V. Uncommitted Majority

Only a "few" remain true to God (Rev. 3:5; "few" laborers (Matthew 9:37)

  1. God is to be loved first and foremost (Luke 10:27)

  2. The Church is to be loved (Ephesians 5:25)

  3. Souls are to be loved (Romans 10:1)

VI. Unpaid Tithes

Israel was "cursed with a curse" because they had robbed God (Mal. 3:9)

VII. Unbent Knees

The only way the church can stand before the world is to have knelt before God.

VIII. Unconfessed Sin

  1. Destroyed one of God’s Servants, David (Ps. 32:15; 38:1-21; 51:1-17)

  2. Needs to be made to one another (1 John 1:9; Ps. 19:12; James 5:16)

  3. Repent or perish (Rev. 3:3; Luke 13:3,5)
