“WHEN YE SEE THE ARK OF THE COVENANT of the Lord your God . . . GO AFTER IT!” (Joshua 3:3)

Human weakness is corrected by the MIGHTY POWER OF GOD!  I have plenty of weaknesses.  I desperately need THE POWER OF GOD.  How about you?

When Moses faced Pharaoh in Egypt and issued to him God’s demands, MOSES NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When the sons of Korah tried to tell Israel’s God-appointed leader how to do his job. MOSES NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When the vast Red Sea loomed large before the frightened nation, MOSES NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

Moses was a great leader.  He did, however, have glaring human weaknesses.  He needed GOD’S POWER to over-ride those deficiencies.  So do we who serve God.

The responsibility to lead Israel was passed to Joshua.  Joshua, just as we all, had human weaknesses.  He had learned his lesson well from Moses: GO AFTER GOD’S POWER!

When Moses died, I am sure Joshua was grieving.  They had been close through the trials of leading a stubborn and rebellious nation (numbering in the millions).

In grief, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER.

When time came to take Jericho, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When it was time to cross Jordan, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When it was necessary to deal with Achan’s sin, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When the people experienced defeat at Ai, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

When it was necessary to drive out the enemies in the land, Joshua NEEDED AND HAD GOD’S POWER!

I could go through the entire Bible and recount how the insignificant won significant battles because they WENT AFTER GOD’S POWER!

Joshua said, “When ye see the ark . . . go AFTER IT!”

·         When opposed on your field by the foreign government of the land, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When you witness day after day for years with no visible results, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When there is too much month left at the end of the money, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When people you loved, trusted, and served rebel and turn against you, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When your body becomes diseased, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When the plans you laid never materialized and enemies scoff, GOD AFTER THE ARK!

·         When language school becomes difficult, GO AFTER THE ARK!

·         When you just wonder if all the sacrifices are worth it, GO AFTER THE ARK!

If all the heroes of God’s Word needed to GO AFTER THE ARK for their lives, you and I certainly do.
