PREFACE OF BOOK

We are all geared to success. A Youth Director doesn't want to be a failure at what he does any more than a Pastor or Missionary. As the statistics above illustrate, success in the ministry is often equated to numbers. "How many did you have saved?", "What was your attendance?", and "What are your offerings like?" are questions that occur at many preachers' fellowship meetings. Sometimes we as preachers tend to let the "Numbers Game" obscure our real duty of ministering to our congregation's spiritual needs.

Granted, all of the statistics mention above of this book did happen. But they were incidental. They did indeed just happen while we were busy ministering to the young people in our Sr. High Class.

As a Youth Director you can shoot for big numbers and exalt yourself while using your kids to further your own goals. Or you can make your young people your life and put all of your energies into serving them.
