KEY WEST BAPTIST TEMPLE
P.O.

"Giving heed to seducing
spirits and doctrines of Devils . . ." (1 Timothy 4:8) I am excited about the
imminent return of our Lord. While I will not join the "date setters", I am
"looking for that blessed hope." Biblical signs are abundant,
wicked men reign, the people mourn, churches are falling away from the "old
paths" by the thousands, pastors have quit preaching the Word Of God and are
following the trend setters. They are closing Sunday School for a "family hour",
closing the evening service or taking it to the beach in "come as you are clothing."
Turning the service over to a "worship leader" who is one other than the pastor. I could go on easily filling
this page and many others with "last day" happenings predicted in God's word.
But I want to dwell on another aspect that to me is the most subtle of all.
And that is, replacing the Holy Spirit anointing with works. Besides the influence of
the Muslims and Islamic doctrines on our college young people, and in the prisons,
the two places where they are making the most headway. Besides discounting the
New Age agenda pushed by the Chief gurus Al Gore and Bill Clinton, to say nothing
of the followers of Paul and Jan Crouch. Besides the Nations number one racist,
the Honorable Mohammed Lewis Farracam there is still this movement I referred
to as much more subtle and dangerous. And that is the Bill Hybels movement among
fundamental churches. I stay to myself down here
in the end of the world in a place the Sodomites call "paradise." It may be
paradise to them but to me it's the only "hell" I will ever know. Yet this system developed
by Rev. Hybles impacts me. When independent Baptist folks moved to Key West
40 years ago, being the only Independent Baptist Church here (and still am)
the folk would naturally join our church. Not any more. They join the Southern
Baptist Church. That tells us something. I get calls from folks
who move from Key West Baptist Temple to the mainland, telling me they went
to an Independent Baptist Church only to find the Sunday School hour turned
into a "Family Hour". No bible taught but donuts and coffee served. No standards taught in
the church (note, I said "taught"). No concern for the Bible used. Notice I
said, "used", like "we use the King James Version." Yes, but what do you believe? So, I tell them, do the
best you can and if you cannot find a proper church, start one in your home.
I had rather they did this than join a church that is apostate. The subtlest kind of doctrine
is to sound "fundamental" and be something else. To deceive folks into believing
your tripe, following your devilish doctrine straight to hell. That is far worse
than coming out and plain telling them who you are and what you believe. Like Dr. Schuller in the
glass house. Or Dr. Hybles, Or Dr. Mann! These men at least tell the people
what they believe. They at least do not try
to hide behind "the Bible" or "the truth." They at least let you know straight
out they reject the Virgin birth and divinity of Christ. They prove their apostasy
by the bible they use. So called fundamentalists
hide behind the King James Bible pretending to believe it and slowly lead the
church away from the "old paths" of an earlier church period. There was a meeting in
Hell on how to devise a way to deceive men into thinking they were saved. The plan arrived at after
much discussion was: "Tell them the Bible is God's word, that the plan of salvation
is real. Tell them to go to church and respect the pastor, but tell them they
do not need to be concerned about lost souls. Tell them that God is too
loving to make a man burn in hell forever and lastly, tell them they have plenty
of time to get saved themselves. Tell them all the things
they want to hear, and soon enough you will have a church full of lost men and
women. Folks, we have arrived at that hour. Willow Creek? Indeed! Why do these Independents
join liberal churches when they come to Key West? Simple. If they are saved,
they have not been taught Baptist (Bible) Doctrine, or they have followed cunningly
devised fables of salvation and simply are unconverted. Please listen to me folks!
It is a dangerous thing to trifle with the truth of salvation. Satan is not
interested in you unless you are praying and preaching men and women to repent
and be saved. He (Satan) will help you
build your church, he will get you large crowds, he will fill your coffers with
shekels of silver, just soft peddle the truth and do not become burdened to
see men and women, boys and girls saved. Just think what it will
be like when folks wake up in hell thinking they were going to heaven! Think
of a preacher and what will happen to him when he arrives before God and has
to give account for all the false doctrine he preached to please the people
to increase his income. Talk about hell! That will be hell, but only the beginning. I know not how much longer
the Lord will let me live. (At this writing I need to have a mitral valve in
my heart). But I have made my mind up. I will not compromise God's word nor
will I water down the message to make it palatable to the public. I determine by God's grace
to stand firm. It is no personal sacrifice for me because I fully believe the
truth of God's word. I find much of it very difficult to the human mind, but
I know God knows best and I am yielded to Him and to Him alone. I have asked God to give
me six more years to preach. That will make me 75. I am willing to go on longer
if He pleases. Every year after the 75th
will just be icing on the cake. God bless you all. To you who are under my ministry,
you can rest assured, baring a stroke that causes me to lose my mind, I will
stand firm all the way. Join me!
